2 places on our list here — pubs that let the dog in. Every verdict below was checked by a human — the stamp shows when. The rest are listed and waiting on a check, and say so.
The village local on Main Road at the centre of Gilberdyke, a mile north of the Market Weighton Canal and handy for anyone breaking the run between Howden and Brough. It is a straightforward two-bar pub with its own car park off Main Road, which is why walkers use it rather than the roadside pubs at Newport. CAMRA records it plainly as dog friendly, with no room or area excluded. That listing comes from a branch survey rather than the pub's own words, and the pub publishes no dog policy of its own.
White Horse Inn is a pub in Gilberdyke, Gilberdyke. It is listed here so you know it is there, but we have not yet established whether dogs are welcome — so there is no verdict on this page and no stamp. If it is your business, claim the page and tell us, and we will stamp it.

ADD A PLACEWallingfen was a vast common fen until it was enclosed in 1777, and the lanes north of Gilberdyke still run dead straight along the drains the enclosure commissioners laid out, which makes this a five-mile circuit with barely a bend in it. From Main Road the route goes up Sandholme Road past the brick pits to Sandholme, turns west on the carr lanes with dykes on both sides and skylarks over the barley, and comes back down the field track behind Bellasize. It is completely flat, half of it on tarmac lanes that carry occasional tractors, and the drains are deep and steep-sided with no fencing. The reward is space: on a clear day you can see the Wolds escarpment the whole way round the eastern half.
Walked something better? Send us the route and it goes on the map.

Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
