What you can expect from Wagfinder, and what we expect back. Written plainly on purpose — if a term matters enough to enforce, it matters enough to be understood.
Every listing carries a verdict and the date a person last checked it. We check carefully and we publish the date so you can judge how fresh it is.
But things change, and signage on the day always wins. A pub changes hands, a council amends a beach order, a landlord changes their mind about the dining room. If our page and the sign at the gate disagree, believe the sign. Tell us and we will go back out.
Beach restriction months are compiled from council orders. We re-check them, but a council can amend an order at any time.
A claimed listing is £15 a month, or £160 a year. No contract and no notice period.
We check every claim by hand — usually a phone call to the number on your website — before anything changes on your page. If we cannot confirm you run the venue we refund you in full, normally within two working days, and tell you why. Your listing stays on the site either way, free, exactly as it was.
The part that matters most: claiming lets you add photos, prices, room and dog details, and reply to reviews. It does not move your verdict, your check date or your source. Those are editorial and they stay ours. If we could sell a better verdict the stamp would be worth nothing to you, and nothing to the people reading it.
You are responsible for what you write about your own venue being accurate. We can remove anything misleading.
Cancel any time from your dashboard. Your listing stays live until the end of the period you have paid for — you have paid for it, you keep it. After that it reverts to a free unclaimed listing, still on the site, still checked.
A business buying a subscription is a trader rather than a consumer, so the 14-day cooling-off period that applies to consumer purchases does not apply. The hand-check refund above is our own promise and stands regardless.
Reviews are read by a person before they appear. That is not to sanitise them — it is because we publish them, so we are answerable for them.
We will not publish a review that is not based on a genuine visit, is abusive, names members of staff, or makes allegations we have no way to check. Write what happened and what it was like for the dog.
We do not hide bad reviews, and a business cannot pay to have one removed. A claimed venue can reply, and the reply sits underneath in their name. Right of reply, not right of removal.
You keep ownership of what you write, and you give us permission to publish it here. Ask us to take yours down and we will.
Anything you send us goes into a queue and nothing publishes itself. We check it, and if it holds up we write the entry and publish it as ours, with a stamp and a date.
Route diagrams show the shape of a walk. They are not for navigation — carry a proper map on the hill. We describe stiles, livestock, cliff edges and lead requirements as accurately as we can, but the ground changes and the responsibility for your own safety and your dog’s is yours.
Browsing, searching, favourites and reviews are free and will stay free. Membership adds beach restriction alerts, notifications when we stamp new places in your area, and perks at claimed venues. £4.99 a month or £48 a year.
You will have 14 days to change your mind from the day you subscribe, as the law provides for anything bought online. If you ask us to start straight away and then cancel inside that window, you pay only for the part you used and we refund the rest. Cancel later and it runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
It is not on sale yet. Nobody is charged until the alerts actually work — selling a notification that cannot fire would be selling a promise.
We give no guarantee that the site is always available or always correct, and we are not liable for indirect losses — a wasted journey, a booking that fell through. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
