Ravenscar accessible loops, Miles without Stiles

YO13 0NE
1.5 MI · 50M · 90% OFF-ROAD

A 1.5-mile pair of easy loops on compact earth, short grass and aggregate stone, level to the north and with one 100-metre slope of about one in ten to the south, taking in the Cleveland Way past Raven Hall and the viewpoint over Blea Wyke. Start at Station Square in Ravenscar; the northern loop has no stiles or gates at all, while the southern loop has two kissing gates that will stop a wide buggy or an off-road scooter. The obvious choice for an old or short-legged dog on this stretch of coast, but the Cleveland Way section runs along an unfenced clifftop with a 200-metre drop, so keep the lead on and stay to the landward side of the path.

Ravenscar to Robin Hood's Bay circular

YO13 0NE
8.8 MI · 3H 48M · 90% OFF-ROAD

A big 8.8-mile day of about three and three-quarter hours and 180 metres of climbing, out from Ravenscar along the Cinder Track past the disused station to Robin Hood's Bay, then back on the Cleveland Way over Stoupe Brow and the Peak alum works with the whole sweep of the bay ahead of you. Start at Station Square in Ravenscar, where there is roadside parking and a National Trust visitor centre; the 115 bus from Scarborough serves the village. Several level miles of cinder for off-lead running on the way out, but the return runs close to an unfenced and actively slipping cliff edge, and the descents into Stoupe Beck and Boggle Hole are steep and stepped.
