A big 8.8-mile day of about three and three-quarter hours and 180 metres of climbing, out from Ravenscar along the Cinder Track past the disused station to Robin Hood's Bay, then back on the Cleveland Way over Stoupe Brow and the Peak alum works with the whole sweep of the bay ahead of you. Start at Station Square in Ravenscar, where there is roadside parking and a National Trust visitor centre; the 115 bus from Scarborough serves the village. Several level miles of cinder for off-lead running on the way out, but the return runs close to an unfenced and actively slipping cliff edge, and the descents into Stoupe Beck and Boggle Hole are steep and stepped.
