A white-fronted village pub with bay windows, one of two standing side by side in Dishforth, a few miles north of Boroughbridge. Three rooms run front to back with the bar in the first two, decorated in comfortable old-fashioned style, and dogs are welcome with no restrictions. The pair of pubs make an easy short walk between two very different bars.
A narrow village pub immediately next door to the Black Swan, decorated in Brewers Tudor with brass in abundance and a large collection of pump clips. It is a single big room with a television at the back, and dogs are welcome with no restrictions. Unpretentious and friendly, and a fair detour off the A1 north of Boroughbridge.
