1 place on our list here — walks from the village. Every verdict below was checked by a human — the stamp shows when.
Birdsall is an estate village of a dozen houses, a church and a big house, and this is the only walking it has that is not somebody's farm track. North up the estate lane past St Mary's, west along the ridge lane, then onto the signed public footpath that runs along the top of the scarp with the Derwent vale and the Howardian Hills laid out west of you. Turn round where the path starts dropping towards Kennythorpe. Everything either side of the line is private Birdsall estate ground, plantations included, so this is a walk to stay on the path for.
