Our drawing of the route — the shape of the walk, not a navigation aid. Carry OS Explorer on the hill.
A leg-stretch rather than a day out, and about all that Burythorpe offers on its own. West out of the village on the lane past All Saints, onto the public bridleway that cuts north-west across the fields - it is signed at the road but the line across the grass is faint and worth a map - then south on the single-track lane and back into the village from the bottom end. Just over a mile of it. Long views west to the Howardian Hills across the Derwent, and nothing at all to drink on the way round.
