Beach Cottage sits on the North Devon coastal path which is an historic path that stretches over 600 miles/960km in total. The Combe Martin to Ilfracombe coastal walk is a 5 mile/8 km stretch that takes in some of the most epic scenery in North Devon. Combe martin beaches offer both rock pools and a sandy bay at low tide perfect for children to explore. The village also offers welcoming pubs a post office bakery ice cream parlour cafes and several convenience stores. Combe Martin is also quickly becoming recognised for sea kayaking with its beautiful inlets caved and secluded beaches to explore. During summer months there are local kayaking companies offering kayak or paddle-board hire guided kayak tours wetsuit hire and fishing gear. Just a few miles around the coast is the town of Ilfracombe a popular destination for visitors to the area thanks to its stunning Tunnels Beaches interesting aquarium range of shops and choice of well regarded restaurants. There are also many breathtaking walks in and around the village with the route of the South West Coast Path passing nearby. Why not pack up a picnic and enjoy a day out exploring the blissful South West coastline? Take a trip to the nearby charming town of Lynton (10.5 miles) and catch the Cliff railway to picturesque Lynmouth. Why not visit the harbour town of Ilfracombe (9 miles) and jump aboard one of the many boat trips available and see if you can spot a seal or two. A ladder leads up to the pretty mezzanine level which is ideal for those wishing to escape and enjoy some peace and a good book.
