Beach Cottage is a stylish home that was newly refurbished in 2020 with a dog friendly beach literally on the doorstep. Dogs are also welcome at this property. Combe Martin offers pubs cafes bakeries gift shops and kayak hire (all a 2 minute walk away). Beach Cottage sits on the North Devon coastal path which is an historic path that stretches over 600 miles/960km in total. The Combe Martin to Ilfracombe coastal walk is a 5 mile/8 km stretch that takes in some of the most epic scenery in North Devon. Combe martin beaches offer both rock pools and a sandy bay at low tide perfect for children to explore. The village also offers welcoming pubs a post office bakery ice cream parlour cafes and several convenience stores. Combe Martin is also quickly becoming recognised for sea kayaking with its beautiful inlets caved and secluded beaches to explore. During summer months there are local kayaking companies offering kayak or paddle-board hire guided kayak tours wetsuit hire and fishing gear. Just a few miles around the coast is the town of Ilfracombe a popular destination for visitors to the area thanks to its stunning Tunnels Beaches interesting aquarium range of shops and choice of well regarded restaurants. For those who like nothing more than spending their holiday relaxing on the beach this area is a real treat with numerous sandy beaches within easy reach including those at Woolacombe Croyde and Saunton Sands. Other activities to try out are horse riding Sea safari s Quad biking football golf and climbing. Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and Watermouth Theme Park and castle are just on the doorstep and offer great fun for younger children. Keen walkers will be in their element with miles upon miles of dramatic coastline to explore via the North Devon Coastal path Approached through your private gate and up a small flight of steps you reach the front patio area with seating and great sea views. Stepping inside the hall you have the lounge to your left a spacious room with fabulous sea views a wood burner comfy seating and a Smart TV/DVD. Heading back through the hall and on into the open-plan kitchen/diner the kitchen has everything you need to cook up a banquet or a quick snack with an electric oven and hob microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher and washing machine. The breakfast bar/island has bar stools so you can chat whilst preparing meals and the dining area has table and chairs with room for everyone. French doors let the natural light flood in and gives access to the rear courtyard. Heading upstairs you will find three bedrooms; a king size which has an en-suite shower and WC another king size with sea views and a twin room. The bathroom completes the accommodation with freestanding slipper bath separate shower and WC. Outside the rear courtyard is of a good size with artificial grass garden furniture and charcoal BBQ. Rear pedestrian access and outside tap makes this an ideal spot for washing off sandy paws and toes. Roadside parking subject to availability or in nearby public car park. This cosy detached barn conversion has an abundance of rustic charm and sits in an elevated position on the boundary to the stunning Exmoor National Park. The National Trust s Heddon s Mouth is a pleasant drive through the park (4.5 miles) or you can head to the nearby picturesque village of Combe Martin (4 miles) boasting a beautiful beach secluded coves and a small variety of cafes inns and shops. There are also many breathtaking walks in and around the village with the route of the South West Coast Path passing nearby. Why not pack up a picnic and enjoy a day out exploring the blissful South West coastline? Take a trip to the nearby charming town of Lynton (10.5 miles) and catch the Cliff railway to picturesque Lynmouth. Why not visit the harbour town of Ilfracombe (9 miles) and jump aboard one of the many boat trips available and see if you can spot a seal or two. Surfers and beach lovers alike have a choice of beaches only a few miles away including Woolacombe s World Surfing Reserve (11.5 miles); also within the village is a dog friendly beach an array of shops cafes restaurants and pubs. Other attractions in the area include National Trust s Arlington Court (5 miles) Dartington Crystal (25 miles) and RHS Garden Rosemoor (26 miles). On entering the property you are greeted by a beautifully bright and characterful open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner boasting vaulted ceilings original timber beams stone tiling and exposed stonework. Light streams in through the skylights and the French doors which open onto the garden. The charming lounge area sits opposite the French doors giving you a wonderful rural view from the sofa. Alternatively you can snuggle in front of the wood burner to watch a favourite movie on the Smart TV. The stylishly arranged kitchen area is hand built and fitted with everything you need to cook up a special three-course meal or whip up a quick snack. A ladder leads up to the pretty mezzanine level which is ideal for those wishing to escape and enjoy some peace and a good book. Back on the ground floor and to your right is a stylish shower room with a WC and the spacious cosy bedroom with a king-size bed completing the accommodation. Open up the French doors and admire the stunning views over the fields and down the valley to the sea. Out here you ll find the patio area with a BBQ and private hot tub great for stargazing in this area of low light pollution. The lawn runs down to a picnic area at the bottom where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine whilst watching the sun set into the sea; this area is also great if you don t wish to venture too far. Please be aware from time to time there will be livestock in the nearby fields which will range from cows with their calves and sheep with their lambs. Due to a high drop into the neighbours garden babes in arms up to 6 months only are welcome. Need to know: 1 king size bedroom. 1 shower room with WC.
