Morte Point and Bull Point

Six miles and up to three hours round the two roughest headlands on this coast, out to the slate fangs of Morte Point, along to Bull Point lighthouse above Rockham Bay and back over farmland, with 340 metres of climbing on steep rocky coast path. Start in the village car park at Mortehoe, which is pay-and-display with toilets and two dog-friendly pubs beside it, and is a far calmer place to leave a car than Woolacombe below. Dogs are welcome under close control and the point itself is grazed only lightly, so it is a good long off-lead run with grey seals to watch on the rocks; the cliff edges are unfenced and sudden, Rockham beach is reached by a steep stepped path, and the return crosses fields with sheep.
