A village pub on Church Street in the middle of Darfield, next to All Saints church and the Maurice Dobson museum. It is one large open-plan room but laid out with distinct corners for dining, for games and for people who have just come in to drink, so there is a spot to put a dog that is not under a dinner table. Garden and car park, and the Dearne valley paths towards Middlewood and Old Moor start a few minutes downhill. CAMRA's Barnsley branch surveyors list it as dog friendly; the pub publishes no policy of its own.
