A renovated roadside pub at 105 Wombwell Lane between Wombwell and Stairfoot, with a new central bar splitting the inside into two separate drinking areas. Dogs are allowed in one of those areas and not the other, so ask which side before you settle. There is a big child friendly garden, covered seating at the front and its own car park, and the Trans Pennine Trail runs close by on the old railway through the Dearne valley. This is CAMRA's Barnsley branch record rather than anything the pub publishes itself.

THE SMALL PRINTDogs are allowed in one of the two drinking areas only; the other side is dog free.
