The Saxon Hotel is a pub in Kiveton Park. It is listed here so you know it is there, but we have not yet established whether dogs are welcome — so there is no verdict on this page and no stamp. If it is your business, claim the page and tell us, and we will stamp it.

We have not checked this one yet

The Saxon Hotel is a real pub in Kiveton Park, and it is here so you know it exists. But we have not been able to find a dog policy for it that we would stand behind, so we are not going to guess at one. No verdict, no stamp, no date.

If this is your business, tell us whether dogs are welcome and we will put a stamp on it — free, and it stays free. Claim this page.

If you have been and you know the answer, tell us and we will go and confirm it.

These are the parts only the business can add. We check the dog policy and stamp the date — photos, prices and their own words are theirs to put in, and this listing is waiting for them.

Chesterfield Canal towpath from Kiveton Park

S26 6PD
3.2 MI · 1H 35M · 95% OFF-ROAD

The South Yorkshire end of the Cuckoo Way, the towpath of the Chesterfield Canal, walked east from the Canal and River Trust car park just south of Kiveton Park. Dog Kennel Bridge is the first bridge and Kiveton Park station is a few yards from it, so this is an easy one to reach by train from Sheffield or Worksop. East of the bridge the canal drops through a long flight of locks towards Turnerwood and Thorpe Salvin, with information boards on the stone that went from these quarries to build the Houses of Parliament. It is flat, well surfaced and sheltered, which makes it the wet-weather option for anyone based around Dinnington.

Kiveton Community Woodland

S26 6RP
1.8 MI · 55M · 95% OFF-ROAD

Open-access community woodland on the reclaimed ground above Kiveton Park, owned by The Land Trust and run with The Conservation Volunteers, with maintained footpaths and an outdoor amphitheatre near the Collier Road entrance used for events including the Kiveton Brass Band Festival. Wildflowers carpet the grassy areas in spring. The ground by the main entrance is flat and easy; the paths further in climb through the young plantations. The Chesterfield Canal towpath is a short walk down the hill, which makes a longer round out of the two together.

Kiveton Park and Wales Recreation Ground

S26 5QY
0.8 MI · 22M · 90% OFF-ROAD

The recreation ground between Kiveton Park and Wales village, listed by Rotherham Council among its borough recreation grounds, with pitches, changing facilities and a made path round the outside. It is flat and open with a good view south over the Rother valley. Kiveton Community Woodland is half a mile east and the Chesterfield Canal towpath a similar distance south, so this works best as the parking end of a longer round rather than as the walk itself.
