The recreation ground between Kiveton Park and Wales village, listed by Rotherham Council among its borough recreation grounds, with pitches, changing facilities and a made path round the outside. It is flat and open with a good view south over the Rother valley. Kiveton Community Woodland is half a mile east and the Chesterfield Canal towpath a similar distance south, so this works best as the parking end of a longer round rather than as the walk itself.

THE SMALL PRINTRotherham Council's only dog order is The Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council's (Dog Fouling) Public Spaces Protection Order, in operation from 29 January 2025 for three years: failing to remove dog faeces from land it covers is an offence without a reasonable excuse, with a fixed penalty of up to £100 or a fine not exceeding £1,000 on conviction. It does not apply to registered blind people or those relying on accredited assistance dogs. Rotherham publishes no order requiring leads and none excluding dogs from parks, so there is no lead requirement here; keep off the marked pitches when games are on.
