Open-access community woodland on the reclaimed ground above Kiveton Park, owned by The Land Trust and run with The Conservation Volunteers, with maintained footpaths and an outdoor amphitheatre near the Collier Road entrance used for events including the Kiveton Brass Band Festival. Wildflowers carpet the grassy areas in spring. The ground by the main entrance is flat and easy; the paths further in climb through the young plantations. The Chesterfield Canal towpath is a short walk down the hill, which makes a longer round out of the two together.

THE SMALL PRINTThe Land Trust's own visitor information for this site records "Dogs welcome" under Dogs, with no lead condition and open access at all hours. Rotherham Council's only dog order is The Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council's (Dog Fouling) Public Spaces Protection Order, in operation from 29 January 2025 for three years, which makes it an offence to fail to remove dog faeces; fixed penalty up to £100 or a fine up to £1,000 on conviction. Rotherham publishes no order requiring leads and no order excluding dogs from open space, so there is no lead requirement here.
