A large pub on Hull Road at Dunnington with its own published dog-friendly page, so dogs are welcome inside as well as in the garden. Traditional pub food is served through the day and there are bed and breakfast rooms upstairs. Hagg Wood and the Dunnington field paths are close by.
Know a Dunnington pub, cafe or place to stay that lets dogs in? Tell us and we will go and check it.
ADD A PLACEAncient woodland on York's eastern edge managed by Forestry England, with a four-kilometre loop of wide rides that turn blue with bluebells each spring. Dogs can be off lead for nearly all of it, with just the arable field margins along the access lanes needing care in cropping season. Free parking on Intake Lane from Dunnington or on Hagg Lane; expect mud after rain.

ADD A WALKKnow one we have missed?
Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
One short email when we add places or a council changes its beach rules. No noise, easy out.
