Three miles of wide, flat forest ride and informal path through 280 acres of Forestry England conifer and broadleaf between Elvington and Wheldrake, comfortably done in an hour and a quarter with no gradient worth the name. The car park is on Broad Highway, YO19 6BG, and charges apply by card or the RingGo app, with free parking for national members; there is no bus, so this is a drive-to walk. Dogs can be off lead on the main rides, there is a pond for a paddle and shade for a hot day, and there are no stiles anywhere, but there are no dog bins either so carry your bags out; the graded rides stay walkable in winter while the side paths turn to mud, and note that nearby Wheldrake Ings does not allow dogs at all.
