West Ayton · 1 checked & stamped
Boots on. These are the West Ayton walks worth the drive, with lead rules and livestock warnings marked.
A level wooden boardwalk running beside the River Derwent through ancient broadleaved woodland, thick with wild garlic and wood anemone in spring — the valley is a National Nature Reserve. Two easy miles from the Old Man's Mouth car park on the East Ayton to Hackness road, with seats and viewing spots along the way.

Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
One short email when we add places or a council changes its beach rules. No noise, easy out.
