Dog-friendly pubs in Wath upon Dearne

A roadside pub on Manvers Way at Wath upon Dearne, on the edge of the Manvers regeneration area and within reach of the Dearne Valley flashes. The pub states that it welcomes four legged friends in the whole pub, not just the bar, which is unusual for a food-led house of this size. Water bowls and treats are kept behind the bar as a matter of course. There is a beer garden and a car park, which makes it a straightforward stop after a walk at Old Moor or Bolton Ings, about two miles north.

A Flaming Grill pub on Sandygate Road at Wath upon Dearne, five miles north of Rotherham and a couple of minutes from the Manvers roundabout. Greene King lists it as a dog friendly pub in its own facilities panel and puts it plainly: bring your pooch. It is a grill and carvery house rather than a real-ale pub, with sports screens, a car park and coach access, open 11am to 11pm and serving to 9pm. It is the obvious refuel after the Dearne Valley flashes or the Trans Pennine Trail at Manvers.

Rotherham district first micropub, opened in a former butcher shop at 49 High Street in March 2016 and still trading behind the original shop canopy, which shelters the pavement seats. Inside there is the bar room plus a second room and an outdoor area added later, so there is somewhere to move a dog to when the front fills up for the Monday jam session or the Wednesday quiz. The ground floor bar is level from the street but there is a step to the toilets and the back room. It is five minutes from Wath town centre and the paths down to Manvers Lake and the Trans Pennine Trail. CAMRA surveyors list dogs among the facilities on a survey dated 6 September 2025; the pub publishes no written policy of its own.
