Dog-friendly pubs in Oxspring

A micropub run out of the garage of a private house on Bower Hill, Oxspring, opened in 2017 and about as small and informal as a pub gets, with a garden that is really the owners' yard. Oxspring sits on the Trans Pennine Trail where it drops off the Penistone viaduct towards Thurgoland, so this is a genuine trail-side stop. It is only open Thursday to Sunday, so plan around it. CAMRA's Barnsley branch surveyors list it as dog friendly; there is no website or written policy.

A small pub with a busy restaurant on Jockey Road, Oxspring, a few hundred yards from the Trans Pennine Trail where it runs along the old Woodhead line under the Penistone viaduct. Muddy boots and muddy paws are both spelled out as welcome, and there is a food menu for the dogs as well as the people, which is unusual anywhere in this valley.
