Walk SOME LIMITS

Golitha Falls and Siblyback Lake

PL14 6RX
6.1 MI · 3H 15M · 86% OFF-ROAD

Six miles from a national nature reserve of cascades and ancient oak up to a moorland reservoir and back, three and a quarter hours with 190 metres of climbing on a mix of woodland path and lakeside track. Start at the free Golitha Falls car park by Draynes Bridge, which has toilets and a seasonal food van and fills on summer weekends. Dogs must be on leads around Siblyback lake, cyclists use the same lakeside path, and the fields en route are grazed; of the three stiles two are stone footholds over walls that dogs need help with, though a hole in the wire fence bypasses the highest.

Walk SOME LIMITS

St Neot Two Valleys

5.1 MI · 3H 5M · 84% OFF-ROAD

Five miles round two wooded valleys on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, three hours with 260 metres of climbing and a fifteenth-century church full of medieval glass at the start. Park in the village at St Neot, where there is limited free space near the church and the London Inn. This is one to leave a big dog out of: a steep flight of narrow wooden steps has been reported as impassable by some large dogs, a couple of stiles need lifting, and two walls have only stone footholds; the fields throughout are grazed by sheep and cattle.
