The Friendship is a pub in Stocksbridge. It is listed here so you know it is there, but we have not yet established whether dogs are welcome — so there is no verdict on this page and no stamp. If it is your business, claim the page and tell us, and we will stamp it.
The Friendship is a real pub in Stocksbridge, and it is here so you know it exists. But we have not been able to find a dog policy for it that we would stand behind, so we are not going to guess at one. No verdict, no stamp, no date.
If this is your business, tell us whether dogs are welcome and we will put a stamp on it — free, and it stays free. Claim this page.
If you have been and you know the answer, tell us and we will go and confirm it.
These are the parts only the business can add. We check the dog policy and stamp the date — photos, prices and their own words are theirs to put in, and this listing is waiting for them.
The fire, the snug, the water bowl by the door.
A few dishes and what they cost, so people arrive knowing.
Can the dog actually sleep here, and what does it cost.
Which rooms, which times, whether the whippet gets a biscuit.
Claiming fills every box above, and lets you reply to reviews when they open. £15 a month, no contract, and it never changes the verdict — the stamp stays ours.
The Yorkshire Water reservoir immediately west of Stocksbridge, below Midhopestones and the A616, with a perimeter walk of about two and a half miles on a mixture of track and field path. Yorkshire Water planted a nine-hectare woodland of more than eighteen thousand trees on the northern bank, so the tree cover here is young and thickening year on year. The sailing club uses the water and the far end runs into farmland. Unlike Langsett, Scout Dike and Winscar, Yorkshire Water publishes no visitor page for Underbank, so there is no car park, no toilet and no marked trail: treat it as a local walk rather than a day out.
The Loungers cafe bar on the Fox Valley development at Stocksbridge, open all day for coffee, brunch, burgers and mezze, and listing dog friendly among its facilities on its own site alongside step-free access and an accessible toilet. It works on a walk-in basis for parties of six or fewer, so you do not need to book after a walk at Underbank or Langsett. Fox Valley has a large free car park and is on the main bus route into Sheffield. It is the most reliable indoor stop with a wet dog anywhere between Sheffield and Penistone.
Nobody has written one for The Friendship. If you have been with the dog, you would be the first — and the first review is the one everybody reads.
