There are plenty of walks from the doorstep including a half-mile walk into the heart of picturesque Crayke village with a popular pub. Less than 3 miles away you ll find the popular market town of Easingwold full of history dating back to the 12th century. The town offers plenty of shops to browse and cafes to relax and watch the world go by. No visit to North Yorkshire would be complete without a trip to York which is 13.5 miles away including the impressive Minster castle and city walls. North Yorkshire is also home to magnificent country houses and Castle Howard (14 miles) is a must-see attraction and the starting point for some lovely walks in the Howardian Hills National Landscape. An outside seating area complete with garden chairs and a table makes the perfect place for enjoying a morning brew on fine days. The lovely terrace overlooks the grounds and surrounding fields. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 king and 1 twin with single beds. 2 bathrooms 1 en suite shower room with WC, 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Kitchen electric hob, electric oven, fridge with ice box, washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave. Smart TV. Own outside seating area. Dogs must be on leads at all times outside the property. The Durham Ox
A 300-year-old inn up the hill in Crayke, two miles from Easingwold, with rooms, serious food and long views over the Vale of York. The Tap Room is dog friendly (tables are limited, so mention the dog when booking) and the Pool Cabin is the dedicated dog-friendly place to stay. The village sits on the Foss Walk route, with Oulston and the river's source a morning's walk away.
