An unreconstructed village inn on Embleton's Front Street, with table games, a fire and no interest in being a gastropub. The inn states plainly that it is family and dog friendly. Ten minutes' walk down the lane puts you on Embleton Bay.

The bay most photographers pick for Dunstanburgh: a clean sweep of sand from the castle headland north to Newton Point, backed by links and dunes. Dogs are welcome every month of the year, with no seasonal ban on any part of it. Access is on foot from Embleton village or the golf club road at Dunstan Steads, and there is no promenade, no kiosk and no crowd.

Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
One short email when we add places or a council changes its beach rules. No noise, easy out.
