Fires, flagstones and no side-eye at the bar. Every pub below lets the dog in — and we say exactly which rooms.
A characterful drinkers' pub on Vernon Road, a short walk up from the South Bay beach. Dogs are welcome between midday and midnight, which covers pretty much any post-beach pint you'd care to have.
Scarborough's brew pub on North Marine Road, a short stroll from North Bay beach and Peasholm Park, with its own dog-friendly page. They ask that all four-legged guests be kept on leads to keep things safe and enjoyable for everyone.
A converted watermill at the far north end of Scarborough's North Bay promenade, right where the Cleveland Way leaves town — its website states plainly that it is dog friendly. Perfectly placed for a pint after a blowy clifftop walk, with homemade food served daily.
A snug traditional pub on North Terrace near the castle end of town, known for pub food and entertainment. Listings say to bring a pet along into the bar, so plan on the bar side rather than the dining room.
A much-loved coffee shop at 7 York Place where dogs get complimentary treats and water — and, if you say the word, a free doggy sausage served in a little bowl. Reviewers rate it a must-visit if you're in Scarborough with the dog.
A small, relaxed, dog-friendly eatery, craft beer bar and bottle shop on Victoria Road — the clue is in the name. Grab a hand-pulled coffee and homemade cake with the dog at your feet, or take a few craft beers home.
A small, thriving Grade II listed pub tucked into Scarborough's Old Town behind the harbour. Dogs can always expect a warm welcome in the bar, making it a natural stop after mooching round the harbourside.
A clifftop cafe midway along the South Cliff walk above the Spa, with panoramic views over South Bay and the castle. The outdoor seating overlooking the beach is the dog-friendly spot, and it is a favourite pause for walkers doing the cliff path.
A proper locals' pub on Scalby Road that welcomes your four-legged friends in the whole pub, not just a corner by the door. Its own website carries a dedicated dog-friendly page, so you can turn up confident rather than hopeful.
A friendly pub on Burniston Road, handy for the North Bay end of town, with its own dog-friendly page promising a safe space for dogs to enjoy. Dogs are welcome in the bar area, so pick your seat accordingly.
A dog-friendly pub on Valley Road near the South Bay side of town, with a lovely beer garden for sunnier days. A good shout after a loop of the Valley Gardens or the Esplanade with the dog.
