This idyllic bungalow is located in the quiet seaside village of Gorran Haven just 400 metres from its two beaches. It is just a short drive away from many of Cornwall s top attractions such as The Lost Gardens of Heligan (5.5 miles) The Eden Project (15 miles) and Caerhays Castle (3.5 miles). Surrounded by picturesque countryside and a dramatic coastline it s perfect for all outdoor enthusiasts who want to enjoy an abundance of nearby cliff-top walks. The surrounding area is full of interesting harbour towns and villages including Mevagissey (3 miles) and Charlestown (11.5 miles). The latter is known for being a filming location in the TV series Poldark; it has an interesting shipwreck museum as well as tall ships moored in the harbour. Beautifully furnished the property itself begins with a light and welcoming entrance hall which leads into the kitchen - a space well equipped with everything you ll need including an electric oven and hob a fridge/freezer a dishwasher and a microwave so you can get creative and cook up a special meal for the whole family. From the kitchen a second hallway leads through to the gorgeous garden and at the end of the hallway you ll find a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room along with a separate WC & hand basin. From the main entrance hall the stylish open-plan lounge/diner sits to your left. Enjoy a lazy breakfast at the dining table whilst planning your day ahead or cosy up on one of the comfortable sofas soak in the sea view or watch the Smart TV. You can also access the utility and garden from the lounge. From the main entrance hall you can head right to the bedrooms. The double bedroom has an en suite WC a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. There is also a spacious king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom. The newly updated modern bathroom has a bath a separate shower cubicle with a shower and a WC. Outside the green garden is completely enclosed and private. There are several seating areas for al fresco dining when the sun is shining - or when the BBQ is on the go - and plenty of space to unwind while the children play on the lawn. Plus there s a beautiful terrace with a partial sea view. To the front of the property is a newly paved driveway with parking for two cars. Need to know: 3 bedrooms 1 king size, 1 double and 1 twin. 1 bathroom with bath, separate shower, and WC, 1 en suite WC, 1 separate WC from utility room. Five miles round the highest headland on the south coast, two and three quarter hours with 230 metres of climbing and a granite cross on the point put there for shipwrecked sailors. It starts from the car park above Gorran Haven, a few miles of lanes south of Mevagissey, and passes the long shingle sweep of Vault Beach on the way out. One squeeze-through stile that dogs manage, and all three beaches on the route take dogs all year, which makes this the pick of the area in August; the Dodman is unfenced, high and often windier than the forecast.

Portmellon Cove

Portmellon

A small sandy cove a steep half-mile south of Mevagissey, where the sea wall gets overtopped in winter storms. Dogs are excluded only between 1 July and 31 August, 10am to 6pm, leaving most of the year open. Parking is very limited, so walk in from Mevagissey.

The Ship Inn

Sixteenth-century inn a few yards back from Mevagissey's inner harbour, all dark beams and St Austell ales. The inn says it loves welcoming well-behaved dogs and takes them in the bedrooms for a supplement paid on arrival; say so when you book. The harbour walls and Portmellon Cove are both an easy walk.

Three and a half miles over Polkirt Hill to the next cove and back through a wooded valley, two hours with 170 metres of climbing and the whole of Mevagissey harbour laid out behind you on the way up. Start at the Willow Park or harbour car parks at the top of Mevagissey, since the inner village is not driveable, and the walk returns through West Bodrugan Woods nature reserve. Dogs will need lifting over a couple of the stiles, the coast path above Chapel Point has an unfenced edge, and Portmellon’s little beach is closed to dogs in the peak weeks.

Just under three miles of coast path between a Georgian china clay port and a small sandy bay, about an hour and three quarters at a moderate grade with two short steep pulls out of the coves. Park at Charlestown, where the pay-and-display sits behind the harbour and the tall ships, and return by the field path above Duporth. There are no remaining stiles on the route, which suits any size of dog, but the cliff path is unfenced for most of the way and the beach picture is unusually strict here: Charlestown and Duporth ban dogs all year and Porthpean is closed in the peak weeks.

Three and a half miles round the Gribbin headland to the red and white daymark tower, about two and a quarter hours with 170 metres of climbing and views the length of St Austell Bay. Start from the National Trust car park at Menabilly Barton, a field car park up a narrow lane off the Fowey to Par road, and walk down past the lakes to Polridmouth. No stiles anywhere on the route, Polridmouth beach takes dogs all year and the lake behind it is the swim, but the headland is grazed and the coast path either side of the daymark runs along an unfenced edge with a long drop.

Old lifeboat station turned pub at the bottom of the lane in Polkerris, with a sun terrace facing St Austell Bay. Wet dogs and other pets are welcome throughout the pub and the dining room, which is unusually generous and exactly what you want after the coast path from Gribbin Head. The tiny shingle beach in front has no seasonal ban.

The former china clay pit turned garden above St Austell Bay, with its biomes sunk into the crater. You can bring your dog into the Outdoor Gardens at no extra charge, but with the exception of guide dogs they are not allowed inside the Biomes, the Link Building walkway between them, or the children's play areas. Plan a dog-sitting rota if you want to see the rainforest.

A pocket of sand at the mouth of the Fowey estuary, ten minutes' walk from the town along the water and below the little Tudor blockhouse. The ban here is the shorter one, 1 July to 31 August between 10am and 6pm, so June and September are unrestricted. The Hall Walk on the far bank is the better dog walk.

Three and a third miles from Fowey’s own little beach out to Daphne du Maurier’s cove and back inland, an easy two hours with one stiff set of steps up from St Catherine’s Castle. Readymoney has a very small car park that is usually full, so most people walk down from the town car parks or take the summer bus. One stone stile, reported to give dogs no trouble, and Polridmouth allows dogs all year with a lake to swim in behind the beach; Readymoney itself is restricted in high summer and the clifftop between the two is unfenced.

Polruan Beach

The small beaches below Polruan village, across the water from Fowey and reached by the passenger ferry. This is the one place in Cornwall where both council orders bite: a July and August daytime ban, and a leads requirement that runs all the way from Easter Day to 1 October and covers the slipways, staircases and the promenade as well as the sand.
