An old whinstone quarry turned country park, with ponds, mown paths and level parking right under the wall at Walltown Crags. A gentle option in this stretch, and the easiest place near the crags to walk a dog without a climb. The national park asks for dogs on leads through the surrounding grazing land.

THE SMALL PRINTNorthumberland National Park asks that dogs are kept on leads, especially in lambing and ground-nesting bird season, and that visitors keep to the paths.
