A licensed farm-shop cafe a mile out of Pocklington on the A1079, with indoor and outdoor seating, local produce from the shop next door and a doggy menu for the field alongside. The site's own rules say that well-behaved dogs are welcome in the cafe and the shop, but that every dog must be on a lead at all times anywhere on the premises. It is shut Mondays, opens ten till two on Tuesdays and Sundays and nine till three from Wednesday to Saturday. Handy as a start or finish for the Pocklington Canal, which is twenty minutes away at Canal Head.

THE SMALL PRINTThe Mile's own site says well-behaved dogs are welcome in the cafe and the shop, and separately that all dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when on the site. Dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 are not accepted anywhere on the premises.
