A small, sheltered patch of sand tucked within Whitby's main pier walls on the east side of the harbour, below the 199 steps. The council removed its dogs-on-lead restriction in the 2025 Public Space Protection Order, so dogs are now welcome all year — though access is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Seven miles of heritage-coast clifftop between Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay, with bay and beach views for most of the way. It is the classic coastal leg of the Cleveland Way, dropping you into the huddled red roofs of Bay at the far end.
