Royd Moor Reservoir

A fourth-generation family farm on High Lane at Ingbirchworth running a caravan and camping site that has been going since 1980, with a large hook-up field and a smaller enclosed paddock for family groups. Its own site states plainly that it is a dog friendly site, with parking on the pitch, a toilet and shower block, washing up facilities and disabled access. It opens from April to October only, weather depending, and everything is booked online. Ingbirchworth and Royd Moor reservoirs are both within a mile, and the Fountain Inn is in the village.

A village inn at 33 Wellthorne Lane, reopened in October 2021 after a thorough refurbishment, a short walk above Ingbirchworth Reservoir and its circular path north west of Penistone. The inside is split into separate drinking and dining spaces and there is a sheltered patio served by its own kiosk hatch, which is the sensible place to sit if the dog is wet from the reservoir circuit. There are letting rooms and a car park. CAMRA's Barnsley branch surveyors list the pub as dog friendly and record that it has accommodation, but say nothing about whether dogs are allowed in the rooms.
