Parking
No car park. Yorkshire Water states roadside parking is available along the access road on the north side of the reservoir; it is narrow, so park tight and leave room for the water company's vehicles.

A short, secluded reservoir circuit in the Ewden Valley below Bolsterstone, less than ten miles from the middle of Sheffield and far quieter than Damflask or Agden. The path skirts the shore and the surrounding woodland with the water in view for most of it, and Yorkshire Water rates the walk one out of four for difficulty. Broomhead Reservoir sits directly above it on rougher, muddier ground if you want to extend the day. The lead rule is Yorkshire Water's and covers the whole site, and the water is not safe for a dog to swim in or drink from. There is no car park and no cafe or toilets, so bring water for the dog.

THE SMALL PRINTYorkshire Water's visitor rules for More Hall: "don't swim, take your litter home, stick to the path, keep your dog on a lead, clean up after your dog." Yorkshire Water also states that reservoir water is not safe for dogs to swim in or drink because of blue-green algae, cold water, strong currents and machinery below the surface. There is no car park; roadside parking only, along the access road on the north side of the reservoir.

The upper of the two Ewden Valley reservoirs, sitting above More Hall and reached on foot from the Ewden Village end of the valley road below Bolsterstone. Yorkshire Water's own figure for the walk is 2.3 miles and its own warning is that there are no facilities here at all: no toilets, no cafe, no car park. That is the point of it. The valley is steep-sided and wooded, the water is a long narrow strip below the Broomhead estate moors, and on a weekday you can have the whole of it.
