A short, gentle circuit on the wold top above Knapton, starting from the reception at Wolds Way Caravan and Camping. It runs west along Knapton Wold Road, which is metalled and a public bridleway, then drops south on the Yorkshire Wolds Way to the Enclosure Rites sculpture and its dew pond before returning on the National Trail along the edge of the escarpment. The whole loop stays between 129 and 168 metres so the climbing is barely noticeable, and there are no stiles anywhere on it. Views run north across the Vale of Pickering to the North York Moors, and the Bilsdale transmitter is visible 25 miles off on a clear day.

THE SMALL PRINTThe first and last few hundred metres are on the campsite's own land, where the published rule is "keep your dogs on a lead". Beyond that it is public bridleway and National Trail through working farmland, so the Countryside Code applies: dog on a lead or in sight, kept to the path, and on a lead around livestock. Sheep are usually somewhere on this wold top.
