A Bradfield Brewery village pub at 4-6 Manchester Road in Deepcar, reopened in August 2025 after a long refurbishment that kept the Tennant Brothers etched windows and put it on Sheffield's local inventory of historic interiors. Inside there is half-panelling, leather seating, a coal fire and a stone-booth dining room, with front and rear drinking areas and a back terrace looking over grass. The Upper Don Trail and the Wharncliffe Woods paths are both within walking distance. CAMRA's branch surveyors record the pub as dog friendly; it publishes no policy of its own.

A steep wooded clough running down to the Little Don at Deepcar, listed by Sheffield City Council as one of its fifty local green spaces. The path follows the stream through the trees between Manchester Road and the river, and it is shaded, damp and slippery in wet weather, with steps in places. It is short, but it is the only real bit of woodland walking inside Stocksbridge and Deepcar themselves rather than up on the moor edge. Fox Valley and its cafes are five minutes away on foot.
