A Tudor-fronted inn on Saturday Market that has carried the Green Dragon name since 1765, now run by Mitchells and Butlers with ten handpulls on the bar and breakfast from ten in the morning. There is a heated courtyard round the back, sport on a great many screens including outside, and a quiz on Tuesdays. Dogs are allowed but only in part of the pub, so ask at the bar which part before you settle in. That restriction is recorded on CAMRA WhatPub from a branch survey on 3 March 2023 and is not the pub’s own published wording.

THE SMALL PRINTCAMRA WhatPub, surveyed 3 March 2023, records the Green Dragon as dog friendly "in part of the pub". It does not say which part, so ask at the bar. The heated courtyard is the safe bet.
