Foredyke Stream is one of the old drains that once carried water off east Hull into the River Hull, and the segregated path along it from Chamberlain Road is a quiet green line through streets that have very little other green in them. The route runs north past the allotments and a wooded stretch, crosses the ancient meadow at Rockford Fields, joins the Hornsea Rail Trail and Trans Pennine Trail south, then comes back through Dunscombe Park. Rockford Fields has been grazed or mown since monastic days and carries a genuinely rich mix of grasses and wildflowers, including the uncommon crow garlic. This is Hull City Council land, and Hull has no dog control Public Spaces Protection Order, so the only instruction on the council's own route page is to pick up after your dog.
