A Sheffield district park in the valley below Ecclesfield village, two miles south of Chapeltown, with a lake, a stream, sports pitches and a wooded fringe on the higher ground. The perimeter path makes a circuit of about a mile on made surfaces, and there is enough tree cover on the western side to make it usable in summer heat. It is the nearest proper park with water to Chapeltown and Burncross, and it links north on foot towards Whitley Wood. Parking is on-street on the roads above the park.

THE SMALL PRINTSheffield City Council has no dog control PSPO; the city's only PSPO, in force from 7 April 2025 for three years, covers the city centre and prohibits alcohol in the street, begging, loitering, drug use and urination or defecation, and says nothing about dogs. Dogs in Sheffield parks are governed by the council's Responsible Dog Walking Code of Conduct: "keep dogs that do not have reliable recall on a lead", "stick to designated paths", "keep dogs out of waterways to protect vegetation, wildlife, and water quality", and in ecologically sensitive areas "dogs must be on short leads from March to August". The code is guidance rather than a fineable order. Fouling is the exception, at a £50 fixed penalty or prosecution and a fine up to £1,000. Keep dogs out of the lake, which the code specifically covers.
