A Breckland common of grazed grassland and pingos, the shallow ice-age ponds that make this one of the best amphibian sites in Britain, with roe deer and great crested newts. Seven and a quarter miles and close to three hours on old railway trackbed, boardwalk, heath and a stretch of the Peddars Way, threading between the pingos, the ice-age ponds that pock this corner of the Brecks and hold water most of the year.
