Gilcrux is a delightful village nestled between the famous Solway Coast and Lake District National Park. Enjoy a trip to the coastal town of Maryport (6 miles) walk along the promenade visit the harbour or enjoy a trip to the local aquarium. The seaside towns of Allonby (5.5 miles) and Silloth (13 miles) are also within easy reach. The historic town of Cockermouth is only 5.5 miles check out Wordsworth House and Garden the childhood home of poet William Wordsworth. Visit the Lakes Distillery: This award-winning distillery is located just 9 miles away learn about the distilling process and sample some of their delicious whiskies gins and vodkas. The popular market town of Keswick is also only 17 miles stroll along the Derwentwater lake shore where you can hire a boat or take a cruise to enjoying the stunning scenery before stopping for some lunch in one of the many independent cafes and pubs. This quaint cottage is the perfect place for a cosy getaway. As you enter the cottage you ll step into a warm and inviting lounge area with a TV with a fire stick and wood burner providing a calm atmosphere a great place to relax after a long day of exploring the surrounding area. Get on your chef s hat and cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen featuring a handy breakfast bar to tuck into your delicious home cooked food. Head upstairs and settle in for a great night sleep in the double bedroom which boasts a feature fireplace and plenty of storage. Walkers and cyclists will love the bathroom equipped with a shower over the bath perfect for soaking aching muscles. There is a small shared yard at the back of the property with a shed perfect for storing paddleboards or bikes. The village pub is within 100 metres the village also offers a fish farm and a playpark for children. There is on street parking close to the property.
