A small Sheffield local green space at Burncross on the western edge of Chapeltown, a strip of mown grass and mature boundary trees with a made path round it and a play area at one end. It takes about twenty minutes to walk round twice and it is lit at the road end, which is what makes it the winter evening walk for this side of Chapeltown. Chapeltown Park is a mile east and Wheata Woods a mile and a half south-west if you want more than that.

THE SMALL PRINTSheffield City Council has no dog control PSPO; the only PSPO in Sheffield covers the city centre from 7 April 2025 and does not concern dogs. The rule is the council's Responsible Dog Walking Code of Conduct: "keep dogs that do not have reliable recall on a lead", "stick to designated paths", "if another dog is on a lead, put yours on a lead too as a courtesy" and short leads from March to August in ecologically sensitive areas. It is guidance, not an enforceable order. Failing to clean up is an offence, £50 on the spot or a fine up to £1,000 on prosecution. Dogs are not for the fenced play area.
