Brittania @ The Beach is a place to eat in Beesands. It is listed here so you know it is there, but we have not yet established whether dogs are welcome — so there is no verdict on this page and no stamp. If it is your business, claim the page and tell us, and we will stamp it.
Brittania @ The Beach is a real restaurant in Beesands, and it is here so you know it exists. But we have not been able to find a dog policy for it that we would stand behind, so we are not going to guess at one. No verdict, no stamp, no date.
If this is your business, tell us whether dogs are welcome and we will put a stamp on it — free, and it stays free. Tell us your dog policy. Want the whole page — photos, prices, your own words? Claim this listing.
If you have been and you know the answer, tell us and we will go and confirm it.
Photos, a sample menu and prices, any room details and the venue’s own house rules will appear here once the business claims this listing. Until then, what you see above is what we’ve checked and verified ourselves.
Claiming lets you add all of that and reply to reviews in your own name, right underneath them. £12.99 a month, no contract, and it never changes the verdict — the stamp stays ours.
A mile of steep shingle in Start Bay, backed by a single row of cottages, the Cricket Inn and a freshwater ley. No dog exclusion applies here in the South Hams order, so it is open to dogs all year; the shelving beach and strong undertow are the reason to think twice, not the rules.
A 3.7-mile circuit of about two hours from the shingle at Beesands past the ruins of the village the sea took at Hallsands, returning by tracks and green lanes with 200 metres of climbing and one long flight of steps. Start at the free seafront car park at Beesands, reached by narrow lanes from Stokenham, with the Cricket Inn and toilets beside it; the lanes are single track with passing places so a wing mirror is a genuine consideration in August. Beesands is a dog-friendly beach all year and the ley behind it holds fresh water, but the green lanes get overgrown in high summer, the fields hold sheep, and the cliff edge above Hallsands is undercut and unfenced.
A family-run shellfish shack and restaurant on the beach road at Beesands, selling crab, lobster and fish landed a few hundred yards away. Well-behaved dogs are part of the welcome, and the setting means a wet dog is nobody's crisis.
Nobody has written one for Brittania @ The Beach. If you have been with the dog, you would be the first — and the first review is the one everybody reads.

Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
