Ingleby Barwick Trail

A waymarked seven-mile circuit that rings the whole of Ingleby Barwick, signed in both directions so you can join it anywhere and cut it short on the estate roads. Clockwise from Windmill Way it drops to the River Leven at Ingleby Hill Farm, climbs back through Crosswell Park, crosses the estate to the River Tees under the Queen Elizabeth Way bridge, then follows Bassleton Beck through Thornaby Woods and the plantation before returning under Barwick Way. Surfaces run from tarmac pavement to genuine mud in the beck woods, and two working farms are crossed on the route, one of them over a cattle grid and through field gates. Stockton-on-Tees has only two Public Spaces Protection Orders, for Stockton town centre and Norton, so no lead order applies anywhere on this trail.
