Our drawing of the route — the shape of the walk, not a navigation aid. Carry OS Explorer on the hill.
The quieter of the two Bradfield reservoirs, sitting in a steep-sided cleugh above the village with Agden Bog, a Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust reserve, at its head. Yorkshire Water grades its own 3.5 mile Agden route three out of four for difficulty and is honest about the going: the public footpath from Windy Bank round the north of the water is mostly flat and well surfaced but can be muddy, and boots are recommended. The whole route is under Yorkshire Water's lead rule, and the water is not safe for a dog to swim in or drink from. Low Bradfield and High Bradfield sit to the south and south-east with pubs, cafes and public toilets.
