Dog-friendly walks in Cawthorne

Seventy acres of eighteenth-century parkland below a Georgian hall at Cawthorne, with a chain of ornamental lakes strung along the valley bottom and a walled garden holding a national pear collection. Barnsley Museums runs it and states that dogs may be exercised off lead on the car park side of the ha-ha, must be on a lead on the hall side and in the walled gardens, and are not admitted to the museum building. There is a water bowl outside the hall and the Pear Tree Pantry in the walled garden is described as dog and child friendly. The park, gardens, cafe and car park are open seven days a week all year; the car park is £1 for two hours and £5 all day.
