Alston · 1 checked & stamped
Somewhere to sleep that actually means "dogs welcome" — bowls out, no hidden surcharge surprises.
A country house hotel with cottages on Lovelady Lane, in gardens running down to the River Nent a couple of miles east of Alston. The house states that some of its rooms are dog friendly and that the cottages are dog friendly, and asks you to contact them in advance to check availability - which is the point, because not every room takes a dog. No charge is published. The grounds and the Nent are on the doorstep, and the Pennine Way and Isaac's Tea Trail are both within walking distance.
Know a Alston pub, cafe or place to stay that lets dogs in? Tell us and we will go and check it.
ADD A PLACEKnow one we have missed?
Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
One short email when we add places or a council changes its beach rules. No noise, easy out.
