A Loungers cafe bar at 3 The Glass Works on Barnsley's rebuilt town square, open from nine in the morning until late, doing all-day food with long vegan and gluten free menus. It is a big, deliberately mismatched room of sofas, rugs and armchairs rather than tight cafe tables, so there is genuinely floor space for a dog, and it has level access straight off the square. Useful as a wet-weather stop in the middle of town between the market and the interchange. Loungers lists the site as dog friendly on its own website.
The cafe in the main courtyard at Worsbrough Mill Country Park, next to the shop and visitor centre, serving coffee, pizzas, sandwiches, cakes and ice creams from 9.30am to 4pm daily. Barnsley Museums states it is dog friendly and that water bowls are provided, and there is seating both inside and out, so it works in the rain after a lap of the reservoir. The shop and visitor centre open Thursday to Sunday, 10am to 3pm. No dog of any kind, including an assistance dog, may go into the mill building itself because it is a food production area.
