Dog-friendly pubs in South Cave

A hundred-and-fifty-year-old pub at 61 Market Place inside the South Cave conservation area, forty yards along from the Fox and Coney and a few minutes from where the Yorkshire Wolds Way climbs out of the village up Beverley Road. The main bar was remodelled recently and there is a conservatory and a beer garden behind, which is the easiest place to sit with a muddy dog after Comber Dale. Cask ales change regularly and there is a weekly quiz and live music. CAMRA records the pub as dog friendly, a branch survey rather than the pub's own words.

A grade II listed inn at 52 Market Place, right on the main thoroughfare through South Cave and the obvious refuelling stop at the southern gateway of the Yorkshire Wolds Way. It was refurbished in 2014 and now mixes traditional and contemporary rooms with a wide range of regional cask ales and twelve en-suite bedrooms upstairs. Dogs are welcome in the bar area only, so if you want to eat with a dog take a bar table rather than the dining side.
