Fires, flagstones and no side-eye at the bar. Every pub below lets the dog in — and we say exactly which rooms.
A small independent bar and bistro in the centre of Settle, useful for a drink and a plate of something after a day on the Ribble Way. The tourist board lists it as having dog-friendly seating, so dogs are catered for in part of the room rather than throughout. Worth ringing ahead at busy times as the space is compact.
A former CAMRA Pub of the Year on Settle's High Street, open all day with six cask ales, home-cooked food and a good open fire for rough weather. Dogs are welcome in all areas alongside walkers and children, and there is a large beer garden round the back. Five minutes from the Settle to Carlisle station.
Seventeenth-century Thwaites coaching inn on Duke Street in the heart of Settle's market town, handy for the Settle-Carlisle railway. Dogs are welcome in the bar and bedrooms, greeted with a barrel of water, bowls and towels by the door and biscuits on the bar. The dining room is best left to the humans.

Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
