A large garden centre in the walled kitchen garden of the Wentworth estate on Hague Lane, north of Wentworth village, with the Walled Garden Restaurant, the Courtyard and the Chicken Coop Cafe all under one gate. Dogs are welcome across the site on a lead, and there is covered outdoor seating in the Courtyard plus indoor seating in the Marquee at the end of the Walled Garden Restaurant, which is the useful bit in bad weather. The gift shop, The Bothy, the deli and the family farm are all closed to dogs, though guide and assistance dogs go everywhere. Parking is free and it is five minutes from Wentworth Woodhouse and the Needle's Eye.

THE SMALL PRINT"Dogs are welcome on site provided that they are kept on a lead at all times and that their owners clean up after them." Dogs are not permitted in the gift shop, The Bothy, the deli or the family farm; guide and assistance dogs are permitted in all areas. Seating for dog owners is the Marquee at the end of the Walled Garden Restaurant and the covered outdoor Courtyard. The centre states it does not condone dogs being left in cars while parked on site.

A nineteenth-century inn on Main Street in Wentworth, five miles from Rotherham and a short walk from the Wentworth Woodhouse gates, with eleven en-suite bedrooms in a house across the road from the pub itself. Greene King Inns names it among its dog-friendly hotels, and the operator publishes a flat charge of £10 per night for a dog, waived for guide, assistance and hearing dogs. Dog-friendly rooms are limited and allocated first come first served, so book by phone rather than online if you are bringing one. There is a beer garden and a car park, and the village is the obvious base for the Wentworth estate paths and the Needle's Eye.
