Wentworth Castle Cafe is a place to eat in Stainborough. It is listed here so you know it is there, but we have not yet established whether dogs are welcome — so there is no verdict on this page and no stamp. If it is your business, claim the page and tell us, and we will stamp it.
Wentworth Castle Cafe is a real restaurant in Stainborough, and it is here so you know it exists. But we have not been able to find a dog policy for it that we would stand behind, so we are not going to guess at one. No verdict, no stamp, no date.
If this is your business, tell us whether dogs are welcome and we will put a stamp on it — free, and it stays free. Claim this page.
If you have been and you know the answer, tell us and we will go and confirm it.
These are the parts only the business can add. We check the dog policy and stamp the date — photos, prices and their own words are theirs to put in, and this listing is waiting for them.
The room, the terrace, the table the dog fits under.
A few dishes and what they cost.
Can the dog actually sleep here, and what does it cost.
Inside or terrace only, and whether that changes at lunch.
Claiming fills every box above, and lets you reply to reviews when they open. £15 a month, no contract, and it never changes the verdict — the stamp stays ours.
A village pub and restaurant on Park Drive at Stainborough, directly below the Wentworth Castle Gardens estate and the parkland walks up to the Rotunda and Stainborough Castle folly. It is a food-led house, and the pub states on its own website that dogs are not allowed inside at all, so plan on the terrace or the garden, both of which look out towards the park. That makes it a fine warm-weather stop after a circuit of the estate and a poor one in January. Parking is on site.
National Trust gardens and parkland at Stainborough on the western edge of Barnsley, with a Georgian mansion, a serpentine walk and a sham castle on the hill above. The Trust allows dogs on fixed short leads through the whole of the gardens and parkland and specifically bans extendable leads, which is worth knowing before you set off. There is a dog-friendly section inside the Long Barn Cafe as well as outdoor seating, water bowls at visitor reception, the Long Barn and outside the conservatory, and a set of dog agility equipment on the play field. Waste bags and short leads are handed out free at reception if you have forgotten yours.
Nobody has written one for Wentworth Castle Cafe. If you have been with the dog, you would be the first — and the first review is the one everybody reads.
