Our drawing of the route — the shape of the walk, not a navigation aid. Carry OS Explorer on the hill.
A worked-out limestone quarry off Edlington Lane turned into a park, with the old faces still forming the back wall of the site and wildflower ground on the quarry floor. It is a short circuit rather than a long walk, but it is enclosed on most sides and there is no water in it, so under the borough PSPO there is no standing lead requirement and it is a reasonable place for a dog to run inside the built-up area. There are pedestrian entrances beside the library on Low Road West, off Edlington Lane opposite number 38, and behind the garages on Stapleton Road. There is no car park at all and only limited on-street parking on Stapleton Road, where the council asks you to be considerate to residents.
